🗣️ Featured Topics & Speakers: 🔹 Polyvagal Theory: Nervous System Regulation & Anxiety – Jacqui Jorge (Occupational Therapist) 🔹 From Trauma to Action: Reporting Protocol for Suspected Incidence – Dr Belinda de Villiers (Educational Psychologist) 🔹 A Mother's Perspective: Understanding & Supporting Children with PDA – Andrea Grant (Neurodiversity Advocate, Parenting on the Spectrum) Resilient Hearts, Empowered Minds brings three expert voices together to help educators, therapists and caregivers understand children with more compassion. The thread through every session: behaviour is communication, and beneath it a nervous system is always asking, "Am I safe?" Jacqui Jorge reframes anxiety as a protective response, not a disorder. Using Polyvagal Theory, she shows why co-regulation comes before self-regulation, with practical tools for regulation. Dr Belinda de Villiers unpacks a child's disclosure through a five-step framework — Receive, Regulate, Respond, Record, Report/Refer — to support rather than investigate, and report responsibly under the Children's Act. Andrea Grant brings a mother's perspective to PDA as a survival response, not defiance — championing reduced demands, declarative language and relationship-based practice, grounded in the belief that kids do well if they can. Together these sessions help parents and professionals move from managing behaviour to understanding the child behind it. Online conferences are recorded during live workshops/conferences.
